KAILA MAE
As a young student, each piece of art I had created had always been judged through a mark scheme; this is why I chose to create art for myself rather than for the judgement of others.
I made the decision between “What do you want the viewer to feel?” And “What do you want to feel/ think?”. I chose the latter. Take it as you see it. To me, my artwork can range from a political and controversial stance, to a completely personal and private standpoint. The process of each piece is simple, it all starts with a memory, an idea, an emotion… Along with endless late nights whilst on my bedroom floor, listening to music.
